Dr. Ashe Coxon

Dr. Ashe Coxon, (MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, MClinEd, Grad Cert Career Development, AFANZAHPE), is a General Practitioner and career counsellor and is the founder of Medical Career Planning. Ashe started to develop an interest in career development for doctors whilst attempting to construct her career pathway in her early postgraduate training. On completion of her General Practice training she began her Masters of Clinical Education and worked in medical education with GP registrars. Her passion for career development in doctors grew and she completed her career development degree with the aim of assisting doctors with their personal career journey.

Ashe has been career counselling, planning and coaching doctors for over 5 years and loves helping doctors and medical students find their 'why' and assisting them to create a fulfilling career.

Ashe has worked with many health care organisations assisting with individual career planning for their staff, providing DISC and Myers Briggs training, career counselling training sessions, product development and presentations. Ashe has previously provided to Post vocational Council of Western Australia, WA Health, QLD Rural Generalist Program, WA Country Health, WA GP training, AMA NSW, James Cook University, Mater Hospital Townsville and North Queensland Regional Training Hubs.

Ashe is heavily involved with Creative Careers in Medicine (CCIM) and provides regular education, workshops and presentations for doctors and medical students in the group.

Karina

Allied Health Career Counsellor

Karina is an occupational therapist and career development practitioner. Karina has a passion for equity in health care and the development of a fulfilled, resilient healthcare workforce. Karina has a diverse clinical background, with a strong interest in hand therapy, burns and plastics, public health, research, and clinical education.

Karina developed a strong interest in career planning and development while holding senior positions responsible for staff selection, development, and retention. Additionally, she understands the challenges of balancing career with a young family and negotiating return to work following parental leave.

Karina brings a holistic approach to career counselling, providing insight and support regarding career planning, professional skill and capability development.

Karina offers 1:1 counselling to allied health practitioners, doctors and also provides CV review and editing services.

Karina has after hours availabilities.

Brooke

Interview Coach

Dr Brooke Bullock is a Pharmacist currently practicing across numerous diverse environments; as a Medical Education Officer in the Emergency department at Gold Coast Health, as a Researcher having completed her PhD in 2020 through the University of Queensland and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and as An Accredited Pharmacist with the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacists.
Brooke has a long-standing interest in medical officer recruitment which stems from a belief that preparing for an interview should be like preparing for one of the biggest exams of your career.
Brooke has been working as a medical interview coach for over six years with a keen interest in specialty program and fellowship interviews. Brooke's offerings include small group interactive workshops as well as 1:1 interview coaching tailored to your needs.


Dr Kasey Williams 

Medical Career Counsellor

Dr Kasey Williams (MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, DipBreastfeedingMgt) is a General Practitioner (GP) with a special interest in career counselling, as well as a GP specialising in child health and lactation. She became interested in career counselling after researching pathways through her own journey. Kasey’s husband also underwent ANZCA training after he completed his GP fellowship and its this experience that has lead to an ability to relate to the complex road it can be to find an area that feels well suited in medicine. 

 

Kasey has been a GP for seven years. She has had roles as a GP registrar liaison in Northern Territory General Practice Education and has been a clinical skills Educator through the Flinders University Medical School program. Kasey holds Diplomas in Child Health and Breastfeeding Management and has worked as a doctor in different parts of Australia as a registrar and GP. Kasey enjoys helping to find where passion lies and is keenly aware that to be a happy, fulfilled doctor a supportive environment is key.

Dr Melanie Tan

Medico-Legal Consultant

Dr Melanie Tan (MBBS, MA (Cantab) (Law) is a medical practitioner and lawyer with extensive experience in medical law, including work as a medical negligence lawyer, medical indemnity claims manager, medico-legal risk adviser for MDOs, risk education presenter and health and aged care lawyer.

In the consultation with Dr Tan she will discuss the medico-legal industry, opportunities for doctors in this field, what a 'medico-legal doctor; really does. She is also happy to discuss opportunities in clinical governance as this evolves in the aged care and disability sectors.


Dr Amandeep Hansra

Digital Health Expert

Dr Amandeep Hansra is a leader in digital health and innovation in Australia. Amandeep founded Evermed Consulting and subsequently co-founded Caligo Health providing consulting services to state and commonwealth government, hospital groups, insurers, start-ups, health services, investors and businesses.

Amandeep was the CEO & Medical Director of Telstra’s telemedicine business ReadyCare; a joint venture between Telstra and Medgate, (Switzerland’s leading telemedicine provider), until the end of 2017. She also served as the Chief Medical Officer for Telstra Health and separately has assisted Medgate in setting up a telemedicine business in the Philippines where she remains the Chair of the Clinical Advisory Board. She is a locally trained specialist General Practitioner who has worked both nationally and overseas and continues to work in clinical medicine at a General Practice in Bondi, Sydney.

Amandeep has a passion for medical start-ups and entrepreneurship providing advisory services for start-ups in the health technology space. She has been awarded the “Women Leading in Business Scholarship” for the Global Executive MBA at the University of Sydney.

Amandeep is the founder of Creative Careers in Medicine, an organisation with now over 11,000 doctor members. The organisation supports doctors with navigating their career options and assists in upskilling and preparing them for their future.
